Re: Fresh install of 1.2.3 is stuck at Critical Binary Locat

My cacti is installed at /usr/share/cacti I tried these locations: /usr/share/cacti /usr/share/cacti/log /usr/share/cacti/log/cacti.log They all failed. In the /usr/share/cacti/log directory is the cacti.log file that was created by cacti and had data in it so the path exists and is valid. I'll blow...

Fresh install of 1.2.3 is stuck at Critical Binary Locations

I have a fresh install of 1.2.3 on CentOS 7. During the install I make it to Critical Binary Locations. It's not accepting a blank "Cacti Log Path". When I hit next to proceed it doesn't and states at the top: WARNING: One or more paths appear to be incorrect, unable to proceed Screenshot provided. ...

Re: Nectar - runaway escaping of strings?

My install was CentOS 7.

The old sanitize function seemed to work fine so I just stuck with that but I didn't want to modify the core Cacti code so that's why I just tweaked the Nectar code. It'll make upgrading Cacti easier down the road.

[HOWTO] CentOS 7 and 0.8.8f

I prefer to keep things as vanilla and minimal as possible so I created a set of commands that takes a Minimal CentOS install and turns it into a Cacti 0.8.8f server. I realize you can add about 1000 lines to this to further customize your installation but this set of commands get me from bare OS to...

Re: Nectar - runaway escaping of strings?

I just built a fresh server with .8.8f and experienced the same problem. The issue is that the ./lib/database.php changed the sql_sanitize function from: function sql_sanitize($value) { $value = str_replace(";", "\;", $value); return $value; } to function sql_sanitize($value) { global $cnn_id; $valu...

Re: nectar report items using tree type not always work

This solution worked great for me. Thanks! To make it easier for people I made a patch file for both edits. Save this code in a file called 'nectarpatch' in the nectar directory and run 'patch nectar_funcations.php < nectarpatch'. --- backup/nectar_functions.php 2014-05-29 09:53:45.410574651 -0400 +...

Re: Upgraded to 0.8.8b from Epel - Tree no longer collapses

I had the same problem but it was my superlinks plugin. I edited /usr/share/cacti/plugins/superlinks/setup.php and commented out the jquery portion: print "<script type='text/javascript' src='".$config['url_path'] ."/plugins/superlinks/jquery-latest.min.js'></script>"; to // print "<script type='tex...

Re: MIB Windows

Your host isn't responding to SNMP queries which could be for various reasons: 1) Your community isn't set for rocky222 on your W7 snmp service 2) You're querying the wrong IP address 3) You have a snmp filter on the W7 host 4) Your firewall is turned on Also, try putting -c right after snmpwalk: sn...

Re: Mactrack missing tabs.

Instead of modifying the PHP code I decided to just edit the SQL data: insert into user_auth_realm value ('2120', 3); This told cacti to show the tab for the guest user (user ID #3). You can get user IDs by querying the user_uath table: select * from user_auth; I also had to click the MacTrack Viewe...

sysObjectID not returning numeric IDs

I had a problem where the mactrack SNMP requests weren't returning numeric OIDs so all my devices would show an Error status in the mactrack Devices Status column. This was weird since they showed as numeric when I configured them and hit Save as result shown in 1.jpg. 1.jpg mysql> select device_nam...

Problem after changing graph template on a data query

I changed the default graph template Under Data Query -> SNMP Interface Statistics -> In/Out Bits to a graph I was testing and it seemed to have orphaned all the graphs I created using the original In/Out Bits. I can no longer reapply suggested names (via GUI or CLI) and when I go into those devices...

Re: Windows Installer [Cacti 0.8.8a] [Updated 2012-09-13]

Nice install. I too banged my head getting the graphs to work until I found that I needed to change the timezone in the c:\php\php.ini. Here is a list of the timezones: http://www.php.net/manual/en/timezones.america.php

Hope that helps others.

Putting this info int he post-install would be nice :)
