Yeah, how soon?!

I'm leaving my current employer at the end of this month - I'd love to leave them with a glimpse of this on their test server!! :)

Got it working, it wasn't me, it was security. The passphrase is option as well.

Thanks for the help, as always.

Thanks for the feedback. What about privacy passphrase? The only two lines on the router, that I know of and not including the ACL, is to name/create the group and name/create the user and associate it with that group and provide a password. That gives me username, password and authorization type (M...

snmp v3 on Cisco 3600

Does anyone here have some experience configuring a 3600 for SNMP v3 for use with Cacti? I've not ever configured v3 but would very much like to - with some helpful experience at hand, if possible.

First issue I see is that there isn't any mention of "SNMP Context" in the Cisco documentation... :)

Are these tools available now? I hadn't heard anything - and it would be truly awesome to get all of my devices from the current Nagios configuration into Cacti automagically!! SWEET even...

I realize the last post is fairly recent, just wondering if anyone has figured out the vlan thing? Could someone who has it working on a breadth of different Extreme devices export "scanning functions" and/or whatever else is different for them? If so, I'll figure it out for each of the ones we have...

You might check that extended SNMP info - pretty sure there is some memory info available.

I have lots of 5.3 servers, but unfortunately I haven't found the time to make them at work. They are on my project list for work, as they will be useful, but I don't know when I will get them done. Completely understood - and as it happens I have gotten a new job, in two weeks I'll be working on S...

Have you tried this how-to? Gotten those OIDs to work?

Rony is pretty busy, I think, and might not have a 5.3 server to use for building a template - we'd really like some I/O performance data! :)

Anyone still here looking at it or doing it? What does Groundworks give you exactly? Differences between their free version and the enterprise version? I've currently got Nagios and Cacti running on the same box, with a few hooks into each other (Nagios monitoring Cacti log), but some serious integr...

Upgrading MySQL 4 to 5

Okay, so what are the recommended steps for doing this upgrade? I installed MySQL via RPM originally and plan to do the upgrade the same way... So: run mysqldump -A -v (any way to tell it where to put the dumps or does it prompt?) From YaST, upgrade MySQL run mysql_upgrade to make sure all tables ar...

I don't understand your problem ? When you do not give a path in this file you/the user can browse the whole server . If you fix one path, you give only the permission to browse under this path ... I was asking where the downloaded configs go, since that's the most likely place I'd want to provide ...

Beyond the sql error, once someone helps me past it are there any issues with copying the files in the "modified" directory after you've upgraded to the new plugin architecture?
