Re: Monitor Vmware ESX
Some confusion here.... vSphere / ESXi 4.x does not have the old-style MIBs, because it no longer provides full-blown Linux for the local console OS, with the full-blown Net-SNMP agent and MIBs. Now it only has skinny Linux-based OS with a (very) thin SNMP agent, with management moving to other inte...

WBEM/CIM NumericSensor template
Here is another sensor graph and template. I have been doing some work with ESXi 4.1, which publishes motherboard sensor data as instances of the CIM NumericSensor class over WBEM-HTTPS. I do not know if anything else will work with this but I am interested to find out. I looked at some HP servers a...

Re: 0.8.7g max_get_size sanitize
My preset isn't set to zero, it's undefined (""), because it was always undefined.
Maybe something in the new installation is causing the clobber not to work but with this particular setup none of my scripts were working until the patch above.

0.8.7g max_get_size sanitize
I upgraded my install to 0.8.7g and noticed that all of my script server tools were breaking on snmpwalk requests. I tracked this down to a problem with max_oids being trapped as null, causing the error handling portion of lib/snmp.php to return null answer array. Basically the input scripts pass ""...

Some motherboard vendors have their own SNMP agents that can expose monitoring data. Otherwise you can use Everest Ultimate to do the monitoring. It's a little difficult to integrate that data into Cacti though.

Thanks for the patch. I've made the fix as well as corrected a couple of other minor problems. I also updated the graph template to use overlays instead of stacked area plots.

What's weird to me is that you get the syntax message without a preceding error. Every call of the syntax function is preceded by an error, so if you are getting the syntax message WITHOUT an error then you are apparently falling into the syntax function from the main function without getting an err...
