OK, im getting better results now and it could have been related partially on the fact that i was using FQDN for servers, using IP i DID get some output (not anymore) for the CPU related stuff ( i could see the processor time,etc in Cacti log). Now im back to getting this: 04/08/2010 03:25:21 PM - C...

It looks like it wasn't able to run the WMI query. What happens when you run the wmic command itself? OK, here is the output: [[email protected] ~]# /usr/bin/wmic --namespace='root\CIMV2' --authentication-file=/etc/cacti/cactiwmi.pw //192.168.1.235 "SELECT PercentProcessorTime FROM Win32_ComputerSyste...

Re: linux -> Windows WMI

Next, I use a quick and dirty solution to fix the buffered-output problem. I run the win_update.sh through a script that just echo's all output up front. (Because cactid/php want it that way..) anyway. Dirty dirty. #!/bin/sh E=`/usr/share/cacti/scripts/uptime/win_uptime.sh $1 $2` echo $E Ok, i got ...

Re: linux -> Windows WMI

Please note. You have to configure the NRPE commands on the Windows server in order to do what you like. Ok i have NRPE running now on a AD server but using the following command on my CentOS install: [[email protected] uptime]# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 192.168.1.235 -c win32_uptime1 -a "...

I can run any commands i find on this thread with wmic directly and get results OK but when using any in Cacti it fails with: CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[6] DS[149] ...

I must be utterly stupid ?! From readme with CactiWMI from OP:
5. Create your password file in /etc/cacti as per the format below.
We just invent a filename is that it? Did i miss something? What filename do you give the password file? Thanks in advance.

Can you get SNMP infos from your Win2k host? if so then it should work ok. Make sure NSClient is running as well on the W2k host. Also Nagios check_nt needs to be installed on the Cacti box,
