SNMP - Get Mounted Partitions returns 6 rows, which are my partitions that ESX is installed on, but i see nothing for monitoring the Datastore drives. Anyone have any thoughts? I can send an SNMP walk if that would help vmfs partitions are not visible in the service console except with vdf - I gues...

About VM CPU usage

Hello, According to VMware MIB, the CPU utilization is "Time the virtual machine has been running on the CPU (seconds)." So the CDEF "CPU Seconds As Percentage" should be something like "cdef=CURRENT_DATA_SOURCE,300,/" But resulting graph are "wrong" compared to esxtop output. I guess the number of ...

Have you overcome issues with reindexing? My guess is that the wrong field is being used as the index field, which would cause the issues that you experienced. TheWitness No, I still have troubles with re-indexing. To sum-up, even "Verify all fields" has no effect when MIB tree changes on the ESX s...

Re: graph free

But graph debug says: ERROR: opening '/usr/share/cacti-0.8.6j/rra/esx1_esxdisk_kbread_3185.rrd': Any ideas? It sounds like a file permission issue (not related to ESX template). Check that the user running your Apache server (httpd, apache or www-data) has permissions to write into the directory /u...

Re: Excellent work

Graphs work amazingly well on VI3. I had difficulties to enable VMware MIB myself (upgrade from ESX 2.5). First, add the following line in /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf if not present: dlmod SNMPESX /usr/lib/vmware/snmp/libSNMPESX.so Run the command esxcfg-firewall -e snmpd or use the graphical interface th...

Re: way cool

thanks very very much for those that have contributed. i've got graphs !!! the cpu percent is reading 5.76k, i'll see if i can work out why. i think the number is correct, just out by a factor of 1000 (or is it 1024). Great. I have done the work with ESX 2.5 and I have not tried with 3.0 yet, so ma...

Hello, The "Re-Index method" makes me crazy. "Index count changes" is not enough. I have had graph mismatches ! So I have changed for "Verify all fields" and do a "rebuild poller cache" to get my graph back ! Argh. Still graph mismatches ! "Verify all fields" is not enough when some VMs are stopped...

Sorry but the 0.8.6h poller is not better for me. Around 131 RRD files have not been updated with cactid 0.8.6i.
If I set the debug mode, I do not find anything strange. What should I look for ?

If you revert to the 0.8.6h poller.php and lib/poller.php, does the problem go away? TheWitness I was relunctant to downgrade my whole cacti installation to 0.8.6h but if YOU tell me to downgrade these two files, I do it immediately :D I let run my cactid all night long and I confirm you it is real...

I have difficulties in considering it is a mysql issue. The cmd.php method works properly and cactid does not log anything strange. Nothing in mysql log either. # mysql cacti Reading table information for completion of table and column names You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup wit...

BTB. This only affects users with more than 10k Data Sources. Hello, Yes, this 10k limit does not sound to be the cause of troubles when using cacti + cactid in versions 0.8.6i. This 10k limit should also appear with cmd.php In our case, the number of RRDs processed is lower with cactid than with c...

Hello, You have to enable ESX snmpd agent ! http://www.vmware.com/support/esx21/doc/esx21admin_snmpagents.html To sum up: /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf must contains "master agentx" and /etc/init.d/snmpd start /etc/init.d/vmware-snmpd start It should work better. Take care to change "Re-Index Method" for ESX...

Hello,
I tested the new patch for 0.8.6i
http://www.cacti.net/downloads/patches/ ... nder.patch
but it changes nothing for my cactid configuration: around 700 RRDs updated over normal 908.
Any ideas ?
I'm not really interested in moving back to 0.8.6h.
