Re: Bonded/teamed interfaces not graphed correctly for lin &

I know this is an old thread but I ran across it while looking into the same issue. What I have found is the problem lies with how SNMP reports link speed for bonded interfaces on Linux. The Linux bonding driver does not report speed so SNMP defaults to an incorrect speed. In my case 2 bonded 1G int...

Perhaps I just missed it, but the documentation doesn't make it very clear that in 0.8.7 your cron should run poller.php every 5 minutes even if your polling interval is not 5 minutes. I had gaps because cron was running poller.php every minute (left over from 0.8.6 with custom rras). Once I set the...

Yes, I have noticed the same behavior. I am not a SQL expert at all but this query appears to be the culprit. It is taking at least 5 minutes to run and 15 in some cases. SELECT DISTINCT data_input_fields.data_name AS `name`, data_input_fields.name AS `description`, data_input_data.value AS `default...

Anyone else run into the following error when trying to import that database: ERROR 1163 (42000) at line 2: The used table type doesn't support BLOB/TEXT columns I ran into that error when I mistakenly tried to run boost_sql_memory.sql on mysql 4.1. The memory option only works on mysql 5 I believe.

I happen to prefer perl. :)

Gandalf has a much better set of templates now anyway.

I have a fairly large cacti setup (75,000+ data sources, 20,000+ RRDs). One big change I made was to move the mysql database to a separate server. I noticed a performance hit moving from myisam to innodb, so I switched back, ymmv. Here are the tweaks I use in /etc/my.cnf that seem to work well. Note...

You may want to use my new Poller Stats, featuring Boost Statistics (runtime, amount of BOOST) http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=18057 Reinhard I was already using your templates for poller statistics and subsequently turned on the boost stats as well. Thanks for the templates! These graphs s...

The Dell PowerEdge x9xx series only have one temperature reading and it is ambient. Our Dell rep had no comment on the wisdom of that design decision. ;)

I'm attaching the template that I use for our 1950s and 2950s.

Boost is my new best friend! :) I had been struggling to tweak cacti to handle a huge amount of data sources. Thanks devs! This system is monitoring nearly 70 Cisco 65xx routers, with a handful of other devices thrown in. This makes for a LOT of data sources. SYSTEM: BOOST STATS: Time:985.7940 RRDUp...

In the pre-plugin version the CSV download link would work even if your cacti directory was not under DocumentRoot. For example, I have cacti installed in /opt/cacti and my DocumentRoot is /var/www/html. The download link links to the full filesystem path of /opt/cacti/plugins/dataquery/csv/filename...

z0s0, Did you ever figure out how to automatically generate data sources, hosts, and graphs from templates? I would love to know how you did it, if so. Thanks. Poller Time Template

I made a simple template to graph the time it takes the poller to run. This is meant to run on your cacti host.

Edit linux_poller_time.pl for your database and put in <cacti path>/scripts/, then import the graph template xml file.
