Re: Cacti password reset from Apache start up screen

When you first open up cacti before even seeing the installation wizard, you should be prompted to rename the admin password because the default is, as you pointed out, admin and admin. Once changed, this is the new password for the admin user and should be used going forward.

It's likely that the poller user does not have read access to the spine.conf. Run the poller for a run or two in high, or change the Cron user to root to verify.
Be aware that if you change user to root, you may have to adjust an new files created to the correct ownership afterwards.

Re: System ErrorSNMP::get(): No response from IP

Do you have Apache locked down so that it cannot make network connections? There is an SELinux setting and an apache one too I think to prevent outgoing network connections which would block Cacti.

Re: In which mysql table is internet consumption saved?

The simple answer is that it is not stored in MySQL. It is stored in the RRD files that are associated with the datasource.

Re: gexport issues

To be fair, I think there may be other users who like the subfolder idea. I don't use it but I know it sounds good to me.

It may be worth having a branch that contains the folder work so it can be compared/pulled if it looks good.

Re: Is it possible to add syslocation to a graph?

I believe that this is pulled in by Automation. But if you are only manually adding the devices, then no you have to do it.

Re: Presets, rrd files, poller and spine

I have been saying for some time, it would be good to have a table relationship diagram that could also correlate to the front end of how things work. Unfortunately, as I'm sure you've seen a lot of that work on documentation is in fits and starts because the devs are focused on finding and fixing p...

Re: importing devices to new server

Provided your original server is at least 0.8.8, the upgrade process should work, so just copy over the database. If your RRD files are on a system with 32-bit and you are moving to 64-bit, you can't just move them, you will have to export them, copy them, recreate the RRD files and import them (the...

Re: Graph Template - port max speed

If you run a verbose query against the query you are trying to run, you will get back a list of output names. You should be able to prefix those with query_ if they aren't already and use that as your datasource field.
