Topic: Including more templates in standard Cacti distribution ?

I'd be more than happy for them to be included - but the "templates" import and export has only been available in ver 0.8.4 so many of us are still finding our feet in terms of what is required to ensure maximum cross-platform compatability and exactly what we need to include etc etc. Including them...

Kevin

I've now posted the bugfix we worked on. Thanks for your time and help.

For others - The query was breaking if the Cacti server had the NBar MIB loaded as net-snmp was returing some strings instead of numbers.

ldrain

Just fixed a bug that gave similair failures if the NBAR MIB is loaded on your cacti host.

Try the updated version and see if it still screws up ?

Posted a small Update

Ver 1.1 Has the CDEF for the router generated bit rate graphs corrected. Also corrected an error which meant the query failed if the MIB was loaded on the Cacti server.

Still working on getting a Working Win32 Cacti install so I can test the NBAR query on that.

Short answer - no news :( Long answer - Looked through your traces and it seems fine. (certainly no ifindex issues!) Appears to be walking the things it should. I need to go back and check it step by step again. Currently trying to get a working Win32 setup - but have had a couple of evenings frustr...

Bugger. Now no PHP script based query will run - not even the disk/cpu ones - and they have been working. :(

PHP query script hangs (works on command line)

Ok been using Cacti on Linux for a while. Now got it running on my Home Win2K Server. Cacti installed, fell over CGI/ISAPI bug now running CGI Ok. Cacti happily polling local Server for disk space (PHP scripts!) etc and interfaces. Also polling local Cisco router via SNMP. Just writing a new Query t...

You need to have NBAR protocol discovery enabled on at least one interface.

Example CIsco config info

As of late last night Ihave a windows install of Cacti up & running so will be testing the compatability this week.

Unfortnuately not. The MIB merely gives a mapping from an easy to read name to the numerical OID (with some explanation etc aswell in there). If each device has a differnt numerical OID, then there is a different "descriptive" (i.e. word) oid for each aswell. There's no ability in SNMP for to simply...

Hmmm

Could you do a walk of .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2 (interface descriptions). Its possible some odd ifIndex might be screwing it up.

If you could send me the tcpdump aswell ([email protected]) I'll have a look over the weekend.

The script calls SNMP. Its done as a script to allow for mutiple CPU and add some intelligence to the ones being offered for graphing.

If SNMP is enabled on your server it should work fine.
