Additionaly I found another issue: If autom8 has to create a lot of graphs, it runs into an timeout, the graph creation is stopped and a "this page cannot be found" error is shown.

for total bandwidth there is a default template within cacti.
for polling interval of 1 minute change it in settings/Poller. also Rebuild you Poller Cache.

Try to SNMP walk the Switch manually and post your results.
Have a look in your cacti logfile and post relevant lines.
Is the device marked as down in the devices tab?
