What I am looking for

Feature request: When defining a CDEF {graph management -> CDEFs}, one of the options is Special Data Source . I'd like a Special Data Source that is all Graph Input Items associated with this Graph Item . ... A 'Graph item' can be associated with multiple 'Graph item inputs'. The cacti layout doesn...

I'm having trouble getting a CDEF to act on different pairs of data... I am trying do this: http://www.monkeybrains.net/~rudy/example/disk_usage.png I had to go into debug mode and edit the RRDTOOL command manually to this: /usr/local/bin/rrdtool graph - \ --imgformat=PNG \ --start=-8640000 \ --end=...

Case Closed!

Server version: Apache/2.0.58 on FreeBSD 5.5 From another discussion, myisamchk was recommened, AND that WAS the problem! I JUST FIXED IT! So, my monitoring box power cycled on April 16th, and that is what messed stuff up --- a corrupt MySQL table. Here is how I fixed it: # cd /var/db/mysql/cacti # ...

bad data in poller_cache

Looks like the poller cache has that redundant 'ss_host_disk' as the first argument to the ss_host_disk.php script... that doesn't seem to be THE problem, however. I edited ss_host_disk.php and status still is items=0 --- reverting ss_host_disk.php to the original one. This reminds me of http://foru...

stopped working: SNMP - Get Mounted Partitions

I'm having a problem; as of April 16th, my disk usage graphs stopped on all the servers I monitor. Debug Information shows the partitions, however, the 'status' shows items=0 (no partitions to monitor). Running: 0.8.6j (with plugin patch... upgraded several versions now) I flushed the cache, to no a...

How to threshold your bandwidth graphs on Mbps

You need to convert that BIG number to the proper units (Mbps) and then it won't be so unwieldy. How? Follow these steps! Create a NEW CDEF: Click on CONSOLE Click on Graph Management Click on CDEFs in the upper right click the Add link In the NAME field, enter: bytes/s to Mbits/s You now have a CDE...

email alert control

Another email alert desire: some customers get lots of alerts but I don' necessarily want to get them. When configuring a Threshold, there is this option: " You may specify here extra e-mails to receive alerts for this data source" . I'd like a checkbox like this: [] Do not send email to global Aler...

hard to believe ...

I find it hard to believe that anyone would really want to look at any data on a minute granularity from half a year ago. No, I am not trying to bait any one, but really, I monitor 51 devices, and the last thing I need is granularity from a long time ago: it just doesn't help in debugging machines o...

Feature request: Extra e-mails per device (UP/DOWN alerts)

I'd like to associate extra-emails on a per device basis so when server XYZ goes down the admin of XYZ gets an email. When ABC rolls over, admin of ABC gets an email. Extra emails per Threshold is possible, but I haven't figured out how to do this with device up/down. Any one figured that out? [A we...

reducing spam score of email alerts.

Threshold alerts don't have the closing BODY tag. That causes my spam assassin to filter threshold alerts. Also, the blank lines without much text trips up the spam threshold as well. In thold-functions.php, edit line 791 to include the closing body and HTML tags: $mail->Body .= "\n<br>Cacti image:\...

Save your disks!

Ha! You would think that Cactitians would care about system performance... but then again, load and cpu graphs near 0 are boring. Attached is a little patch to allow you to us resize to grow or unGrow your RRD files. The '-G' flag will shrink, while the -g flag will still grow. You can, in a fit of ...
