#1 Post by cjblade54 » Fri Mar 14, 2008 11:32 am

I tried to import this template for APC PDU ..... tried both Browse and Text functions.... after clicked Save.... nothing happened. file_upload in php.ini is set as ON and i also did the patch for 0.8.7b. Not sure how to fix it.

Hi Reinhard,

I have the same problem. I am unable to import a template either by file or by cutting and pasting the template into the form.

There are no errors in apaches's error log.

The access log has the following

Hi Reinhard,

yes uploading in /etc/php.ini is enabled.

I am going to try a new install on another system to make sure I haven't made a mistake in my installation.

Hi Reinhard,

I have tried another vanilla install and template imports worked so it appears that I have made a mistake during my install

System that template imports works.
Opensuse 10.3
mysql 5
php5

System that template import does not work.

SLES9
msql 4
php4
Behind firewall using ssl
Packages were copied using ssh and installed manually using rpm (not using rug or yast as I have no access to software repository). I suspect that something may not be installed although I installed all reported dependencies.

Is there a way to run the php scripts on the command line to see where I have made my mistake and what is missing.

Cheers, Barrie

There's no cli for template import, currently. You may re-run only from web interface

Solution - Import Template.... nothing happen

#8 Post by baz0860 » Mon Apr 28, 2008 3:48 am

Hi Reinhard,

What can I say besides blush

I have discovered the problem with importing templates into cacti 0.8.7b on my system.

A full file system was my problem. I had debugging turned on for an earlier problem and didn't turn it off. Result a huge log file.

I should have done the basic checks instead of going as deep (and off track) as I did.

A simple df -k would have shown the problem long ago.

Hopefully, this simple solution will help someone else solve a similar problem and save a lot of time.

Cheers, Barrie
