Just for the record, how do you do this?

I never got an answer.

I ended up recreating the Files, since they didn't work for me. I also tweaked a few things. (I hate stacked graphs for CPU, it always screws me up)

I'm attaching my file,

Tell me how I did

***UPDATE***

I just used my own Template (rebuilding a new cacti server) and it looks like it corrupts the SNMP-interfaces template, which means it royally screws things up when you try to add more hosts

I'll post what I did to to rename the Named OID's to Numbers

Has anyone, or can someone explain to me (point me in the right direction) of how to add discovery and collection of sub-interface and tunnel specific byte count information.

I have the last of the templates from this post installed and it works just fine but we have a large number of netscreens and almost all have 5+ VPNs tunnels each and all use a configuration that doesn't use the native interfaces for each 'domain'.

Any help greatly appreciated!

mpking: I'd love to tell you how you did, but I can't find the file you updated. I hate stacked graphs as well.

After trying several templates and scripts I found "slech" to work mostly well. There were a couple problems however. I have corrected them and now CPU, Memory and Sessions are working correctly and without fault.

I ripped out all the old NetScreen scripts - leaving the device in place.

Whats nice about this XML is that everything is done by polling SNMP direct from cacti and does away with additional scripts. should the need be changes can be made within Cacti's UI.

Importing the xml should set everything up. you may need to just configure your graphs but the data queries should be in place.
If it's working you should start to see graphing within a couple minutes. Certainly no longer

Compatibility
This is working with a NS25 but should work with other devices. Hence the Host template "Netscreen Device"

File comment: Builds on slech work - correcting a couple graph errors and making some minor changes to Naming. Working well on NetScreen-25 version 5.4.0r3a.0.

To install simply download the .xml and import into Cacti. The XML file will setup a new host template 'Ne

This is an old post and hopefully someone answers. I am pretty new to Cacti and I am trying to use the pre-built templates. If someone could assist me I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

RRDTool Command:

/usr/bin/rrdtool graph - \
--imgformat=PNG \
--start=-86400 \
--end=-300 \
--title='Firewall - CPU Load Average' \
--rigid \
--base=1000 \
--height=240 \
--width=1000 \
--alt-autoscale-max \
--lower-limit=0 \
--vertical-label='percent' \
--slope-mode \
--font TITLE:10: \

--font LEGEND:8: \
--font UNIT:6: \
DEF:a="/var/www/html/cacti/rra/_load_1min_11.rrd":load_1min:AVERAGE \
DEF:b="/var/www/html/cacti/rra/_load_5min_13.rrd":load_5min:AVERAGE \
DEF:c="/var/www/html/cacti/rra/_load_15min_12.rrd":load_15min:AVERAGE \
CDEF:cdefg=TIME,1304626817,GT,a,a,UN,0,a,IF,IF,TIME,1304626817,GT,b,b,UN,0,b,IF,IF,+ \

GPRINT:b:LAST:" Current\:%8.2lf\n" \
AREA:#FF0000FF:"15 Minute Average":STACK \
GPRINT:c:LAST:"Current\:%8.2lf\n" \
LINE1:cdefg#000000FF:""

RRDTool Says:

ERROR: parameter '#FF0000FF' does not represent a number in line AREA:#FF0000FF:15 Minute Average:STACK

@samshah
As you can see above I was having the same issues. I went into the XML file and changed the color used FF0000FF to another color. Deleted my test device, re-imported the device. I was still having the issue so I unassociated the data source from the graph and re-applied that and then it started graphing. Hope this helps.

Installed Pdurnien's template.

All graphs are working except CPU. the graph is not getting generated. I suspect this to be some other issue though not necessarily a problem with the template.

--Update

Got the CPU graph working too. Somehow the first data source was selected as "None". The other two data sources were automatically selected as 1 min and 5 min intervals. Added the 15 min interval to the source which was None and the graph got generated instantly.
