Adding a description for each member in the SAN Group Manager fixed my "SNMP Error" issue also! Thanks for a great template! :D

Hi,

This is a very useful template, thanks a lot for posting.
However, I find that I would like to see the aggregated Read&Write I/O in the I/O graph. How could this be achieved?

Thanks,

Otto

<erm> Does anybody know where I can get this template - the original link goes to a blank wiki article...

Thanks for that.

I was about to post that I had found it there, but had to run out the door last night!

Hello,

I have Cacti 0.8.7i running and am trying out the Equallogic Template. I have two arrays in separate groups. One is a PS100e with OLD firmware (v2.3.6) and the second one is a PS4100e running firmware 5.1.2

The template seems to work just fine on the PS100e array.

On the PS4100e array, I get an SNMP Error. After reviewing this forum, I checked to see the member had something in its description and verified I was using the IP address of the group instead of the member itself.

When I Look at the device, I see this:

Code: Select all

1) Dell Equallogic - Member Statistics (Verbose Query) Uptime Goes Backwards	Success [0 Items, 0 Rows]
When I click the verbose query, these are the results:

Code: Select all

+ Running data query [16].
+ Found type = '3' [SNMP Query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/local/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/equallogic_member.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ <oid_num_indexes> missing in XML file, 'Index Count Changed' emulated by counting oid_index entries
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.12740.2.1.1.1.9' Index Count: 0
+ No SNMP data returned
I'm using SNMPv2 and have added the appropriate community to the equallogic group. I'm guessing I've missed something or there is an issue with the latest version of Cacti.

If anyone could offer some help, I'd greatly appreciate it. This is a great template and I'd like to have it working on my new array.

Thanks,

Don M.

Please make sure if your device returns values properly for all OIDs (".1.3.6.1.4.1.12740.2.1.1.1.9" and other) defined in equallogic_member.xml.

After poking at it for a while off and on, I hate to admit it was my fault. The key was seeing no data returned on the SNMP queries, so thanks for that tip noname. The templates work great!

The problem was I was trying to access SNMP data on the wrong interface of the Equallogic box, using one of the iSCSI interfaces rather than the maintenance interface. Silly me!

Hi,

First off all great job!
We are only unable to graph IOPS.

When we run an snmpwalk at .1.3.6.1.4.1.12740.2.1.6.1.3.1.6.1
We get no results back.
Do we need to change the oid?

Thanks in advance!

Have you ensured the devices ALL have names?

Re: Dell Equallogic Group template

To me it looks like it is responding correctly.

Most of the graphs are not for individual units but for the group the units are members of, this can get confusing.

Its a while since I put this live, so can't remember exactly how I did it, but I now have: Capacity_Group as a device, as well as the individual members....

Looks like you are getting everything you'd expect to see except space info...

I'm not getting any Snapshot info in my graphs, but I am getting the Delegated Space info. Have you actually delegated any space? (TBH I'm not sure how one does this!).

I don't know.
All i'd like to view is the IOPS so we can put a threshold on it.
Any ideas how to get them working with our OID results?
