Threshold alert for devices that have been down for % days or more

#1 Post by chipmonk » Thu Nov 07, 2019 1:03 pm

Dear forum,

I'm running Debian 10.1, Cacti 1.2.2 with Threshold plugin 1.3.2, Monitor plugin 2.3.6.

I manage a couple hundred Win10 devices that are at a number of remote facilities and I'd like to set up an automated email alert for devices that haven't been on the network in the last 14 days or greater. Thold has a Device Status - Time In State report like the one below that would be perfect, is there a way to generate this automatically?

Appreciate your suggestions.

Sincerely,

Is there a plugin that allows you to schedule email alerts of specific thold webpages? I looked into creating an alert based on downtime using "Interface - Status" without success, anyone have any suggestions for plugin options or which template contains the attribute that the Thold uses to report "In State"?

Thanks,
-chip

I am not sure if there is scripting int he latest thold but if there is, you can probably get the status time (don't quote me on that) and then trigger a notification in your script.
