Thold HOST DOWN notifications re-alert cycle

#1 Post by combellm » Fri Feb 08, 2013 10:25 am

Hi,
I am using Thold to monitor CPU/Memory/Temperature and so on.
But I have some problem configuring the delay between two email!

I receive an email every minute (one poller cycle??) but I would like CACTI to send it less often!

If someone can help or at least explain a bit about all settings, which ones apply to HOST/DOWN and which ones to the threshold from templates!

:D

My CACTI:
Version 0.8.8a
Thold 0.4.9

Settings for Thold:
Poller:
Failure Count: 4
Recovery Count: 2

Threshold:
Default Trigger Count 5
Re-Alerting 100
Baseline Trigger Count 3

Have a nice day!

Hi combellm,
you can do it by defining Breach Duration.
If you have a poller time of 1 minute and you need to send email after a while a threshold was breached, you have to define a breach duration longer than poller time.

Poller Time: 1 Minute
Breach Duration: 5 Minutes

With this settings you get an email each 5 Minutes and oly if threshold was breached more than 4 times (if you have a poller time of 1 Minute).

If you want to reduce realert, simple clic on Re-Alert Clic and choose a different period of time.
I hope i have understood your problem and clarified it.

Hi

I just want to know where these two setting exist? Is this the below one ?

Default Trigger Count
Default number of consecutive times the Data Source must be in breach of the Threshold for an Alert to be raised
3
Re-Alerting
Repeat Alert after specified number of poller cycles.
360

Hello
I have the same problem.
Cacti sends 3 or more e-mails for both host down and host up.
I would like you to send an e-mail for both situations.
My settings are as follows.
How should I set them up?

Thank you

That picture won't work as it's a local path. You must have it uploaded somewhere to display it in a web page.
