MySQL Log out of control

#1 Post by aragones » Fri Oct 05, 2007 10:18 am

Hey all;

All of the sudden the MySQL log grows out of control and eats up all the space.

it has been working fine and all I did was add 2 devices and a weathermap. Ive remove both but it's still going crazy. Here's the what the cacti log says

10/05/2007 10:36:51 AM - CACTID: Poller[0] ERROR: Cactid Timed Out While Processing Hosts Internal
10/05/2007 10:36:24 AM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[1] DS[9] WARNING: Result from SCRIPT not valid. Partial Result: ...
10/05/2007 10:36:24 AM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[1] ERROR: Empty result [127.0.0.1]: '/usr/bin/php -q /var/www/html/plugins/haloe/syslog_counter.php'
10/05/2007 10:36:24 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Exec Failed "insert into settings values ('syslog_last_incoming','')"
10/05/2007 10:36:16 AM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] Weathermap 0.92 run complete - 0 maps were run
10/05/2007 10:36:16 AM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] Weathermap 0.92 starting - Normal logging mode. Turn on DEBUG in Cacti for more information
10/05/2007 10:36:16 AM - SYSTEM STATS: Time:292.4247 Method:cactid Processes:1 Threads:1 Hosts:53 HostsPerProcess:53 DataSources:3135 RRDsProcessed:30
10/05/2007 10:36:16 AM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 292 seconds exceeded. Exiting.
10/05/2007 10:30:50 AM - CACTID: Poller[0] ERROR: Cactid Timed Out While Processing Hosts Internal
10/05/2007 10:30:30 AM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[1] DS[9] WARNING: Result from SCRIPT not valid. Partial Result: ...
10/05/2007 10:30:30 AM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[1] ERROR: Empty result [127.0.0.1]: '/usr/bin/php -q /var/www/html/plugins/haloe/syslog_counter.php'
10/05/2007 10:30:30 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Exec Failed "insert into settings values ('syslog_last_incoming','')"

and here's the MySQL log it just keeps repeating

071005 11:11:18 [ERROR] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Can't open file: 'syslog_incoming.MYI' (errno: 145)

any ideas?

I kept searching the forums and found this post

http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t ... ght=syslog

I did have a problem when I did an upgrade and ran out of space on /var. I cleared the space but it wasnt until the next day I noticed I had a problem with the Mysql log growing out of control so I ran the repair on the syslog DB and restarted the MySQL daemon, working good now!
