I am beginning to play with automation rules now and I had some questions, ideally if there are working examples of automation rules I can probably use those to work backwards and do what I want to do..

For my first foray I have a server template set up, and each server will have a set of standard graphs (These I assume are easy as every host in this template will have these graphs created 100% of the time)

Where I am struggling is each host ALSO has eth0, eth1, eth2, and eth3 as well as a bond0 and possibly bond1 adapter.. I want to add graphs for ethernet adapters that exist AND are 'up'.

Additionally I am graphing each CPU core, but I need to detect how many cores to create graphs for (This might be less of an issue as the servers should all have the same number).

If there is an example of a rule that does what I detailed above for ethernet interfaces, or something that employs similar logic I can work backwards from that to do what I am trying.

You can disable the automation template and play around with things, and it'll show you the proposed results. It's not that complicated.

I've been playing around with them a bit, it looks like some of the templates I use are not available through the automation interface.

For now I am just going to get my hosts added manually, I'm migrating from 0.8.8 and have a good number of hosts to add still.

The good news is the network scans have VASTLY improved the speed of adding nodes to the new server, I am just trying to also automate the graph creations but it's not a showstopper really..

Once I get the nodes all added I can break everything upgrading to 1.2 lol.

Yea, there are a few issues in 1.2 that are likely forcing a new release soon. You can see this by reviewing the GitHub traffic.

I assume a minor version or patch release won't involve any database schema updates etc, so these will just be file updates to deploy to my servers?

Just trying to gauge level of effort for applying once released as I did complete the 1.2.0 update last night (With only minor complications).

1.2.1 is going to be a patch which should only have bug fixing. There will be rarely any database updates involved and the installer will ask to perform an update anyway applying any database changes that are required.
