HUGE debug.log file

#1 Post by robvas » Wed Jan 23, 2019 8:24 am

Ran out of disk space on a server....found that the debug.log file had grown to 64 gigs!

I searched around for a bit and didn't find any quick fixes so I took a look on the server. There's a debug log variable in one of the percona php scripts that was writing to it.

Code: Select all

42 $debug = FALSE; # Define whether you want debugging behavior.
43 #$debug = TRUE;
44 #$debug_log = '/var/log/cacti/debug.log';
45 $debug_log  = FALSE; # If $debug_log is a filename, it'll be used.
Just something to check if you have the same issue! I think I might have turned it on early in the install when I was still troubleshooting and forgot to comment it back out.

We don't create a debug.log so that sounds like something specific with their scripts. Maybe it's somethign that got enabled to debug an issue and forgotten, or you downloaded a copy of the scripts from someone who had done that then published their changes without reverting the debug flag. Good to know though!
