Cacti and snmp over TCP

#1 Post by Hotratz » Fri Mar 01, 2019 1:43 pm

Does cacti support snmp over tcp?

I receive an error from cacti when attempting to use tcp in the hostname:

tcp:192.168.1.2

Error:

Session SNMP error - SNMP::__construct(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known

snmpwalk has no problem with this at all. tcp handles crappy network connections much better than udp.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I believe this to be a problem with the php-snmp module more than anything. You can try disabling that to see if that helps things.
