Debian testing Bullseye - cacti broken

#1 Post by Benhool » Mon Sep 02, 2019 9:41 pm

Hi and thanks for all your excellent work...

for information on a fresh system with Debian testing bullseye netinstall, cacti seems to be broken (install via apt... with apache)

/var/log/apache2/error.log
PHP Warning: require(/usr/share/cacti/site/include/vendor/phpgettext/streams.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/share/cacti/site/include/global_languages.php on line 157
PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/usr/share/cacti/site/include/vendor/phpgettext/streams.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php') in /usr/share/cacti/site/include/global_languages.php on line 157

no streams.php found on this system:

[email protected]:~# find / -name '*streams.php*'
[email protected]:~#

Thanks

That needs reporting to the Debian team then as it's a packaging issue which they have to resolve. That would normally be Paul Gevers I think.

@netniV thanks for notifying.

Please see https://github.com/Cacti/cacti/issues/2508. I disabled phpgettext as recommended in that bug report. phpgettext was supposed to be optional. It was removed from Debian due to the security implications discussed in that bug.

Thanks Paul. I thought it sounded familiar I just couldn't recall why.

When we looked into this previously, I had been informed that that module was optional for a long time but clearly something isn't quite right.

@Benhool, Could you actually report this instead to our GitHub issue tracker so we can track, diagnose and correct this?
