Resource is not writable. Upgrading from 1.2.2 to 1.2.5

#1 Post by vovas » Tue Sep 17, 2019 1:13 pm

Hi all!

Same problem from this thread.

Code: Select all

# ll -h /var/log/cacti/log
-rw-r--r-- 1 www cacti 31K Sep 17 21:10 /var/log/cacti/log
Log file is writable. Tried from different browsers, no success

You may believe that the log is writable, but can cacti itself remove/recreate that log file? The chances are not, and as such Cacti ends up reporting this as an issue as many people do use Cacti's built in log rotation to handle that.

But 1.2.2 still write and rotate log:

Code: Select all

# ll -h /var/log/cacti
total 1832
-rw-r--r-- 1 www cacti 1.4M Sep 18 12:21 log
-rw-r--r-- 1 www cacti 359K Sep 18 00:04 log-20190917
I don't understand what permission should I accept for this folder?

So, I fixed it. I've deleted cacti folder with logs and recreate it. Create log file and gave same permissions. Now it works, update completed.
