RRD not created

#1 Post by Helmut Schneider » Mon Sep 09, 2019 4:08 am

Hi,

I have a script to query WMI:

perl <path_cacti>/scripts/check_wmi.pl -H <hostname> -u user -p pass -c Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfOS_Memory -a AvailableBytes,CommittedBytes,CommitLimit,FreeAndZeroPageListBytes,PoolNonpagedBytes,PoolPagedBytes

The Data Input Method has the output fields

cachedMemory
FreeAndZeroPageListBytes
UsedMemory

This is the logfile:

2019/09/09 11:03:10 - POLLER: Poller[1] Device[42] DS[1590] CMD: perl /var/www/cacti/scripts/check_wmi.pl -H 'exchange01' -u user -p pass -c Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfOS_Memory -a AvailableBytes,CommittedBytes,CommitLimit,FreeAndZeroPageListBytes,PoolNonpagedBytes,PoolPagedBytes, output: Name:EXCHANGE01 TotalPhysicalMemory:4294496256 AvailableBytes:1061380096 CachedMemory:754495488 CommitLimit:8589463552 CommittedBytes:5030469632 FreeAndZeroPageListBytes:306884608 PoolNonpagedBytes:47452160 PoolPagedBytes:132030464 UsedMemory:3233116160

In data sources the source exists (1590) and the path also seems correct:

<path_rra>/exchange01_cachedmemory_1590.rrd

But the data source is never created.

[[email protected] ~]$ ls -la /var/db/cacti/rra/exchange01_cachedmemory_1590.rrd
ls: /var/db/cacti/rra/exchange01_cachedmemory_1590.rrd: No such file or directory
[[email protected] ~]$

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Check the permissions of the polling user. If this is 1.2.x use the Troubleshooting -> Datasources option to verify that the setup is correct for the datasource.

The poller has permissions (all other rrds are updated correctly), Troubleshooting => Data Soucrces shows "No Checks", even if I chose "ANY" "ANY". Using 1.2.3.

You have to add a check for the data source, then it will run that check once, go away wait 10 minutes, come back and you should have results.

In the drop down where it says debugging, click the other option.
See the Cacti 1.x templates I use at: http://www.camerabob.com/cacti

The mismatch between the RRD's and definition should be resolved. Though that may be the case because it simply does not exist. The fact that the poller claims not to be able to find a file would suggest a permissions issue or that the data source isn't being polled at all. Try clearing your poller cache to see if that helps.

Cleaning the poller cache didn't help.

Can I manually run the poller for this specific data source and see debug output?
