Display of information collected by old cacti

#1 Post by ogreeeen » Tue Feb 05, 2019 6:27 pm

I am planning to introduce cacti 1.2.1
I doubt whether it can display the data collected at cacti 0.8.8
Have you verified that these are compatible
Or, did you change the display method by version upgrade
Please tell me if you know someone

You should be able to upgrade from 0.8.8 through to 1.2.1. There are a few issues though such as any existing 0.8.8 scripts may need to be modified slightly for 1.x compatible versions. The same with plugins. If you have any custom queries or scripts that utilise table names in 0.8.8 these changed in 1.x so again will need modifying.

It is advised to migrate to new hardware for 1.2.x since 0.8 was released ten years ago and 1.x relies on newer versions of programs (eg, MariaDB/MySQL/RRDTool). Also, if you are switching between 32-bit and 64-bit architecture, the RRA's that you have currently may need to be exported to XML format and reimported (there are some tutorials on how to do this on the web).
