Hello All,
I am using cacti-1.1.38. I have a question on graphing. We are getting graphs as we should, etc.
I have a custom preset for 30 sec polling. The graph under Management,Devices, device xxx, Graph List seems to have an expanded
timespan, as if it was expanded in the Graphs/tree section. This is data from a cisco router.
Here is a sample:

Any ideas on this?

Thanks

Hello Members,
Hope someone can shed some light on this. I have discovered that this
graphs is based on a different set of templates, the graph template is called "Interface - Traffic"
and the data source template is called "Interface - Traffic", the ds template info mode shows data.
I am using cact--1.1.38 with rrdtool 1.7.0.

I thought I had an understanding of the relationship between the device, the graph template, the datasource template,
and the data source profile (aka Preset), but I guess not.
I have some graphs like the one shown here, and others that appear correct like this:

Any suggestions or tips?
thanks,

Unfortunately, having read most of what you have written, I don't actually know what your problem is.

Hello netniV,

Hmmm. Well I do. Figured it out. It has to do with who added the device, and what
dataprofile they selected and what interface template they chose. The graph that the manager likes
is a graph that was created long ago, with different template and preset.

So I tricked the manager, deleted the graph, deleted the rrd file, used the appropriate templates and preset.
All is well.

One thing I have learned about cacti (and continue to learn) is the combination of preset (aka Data Profile), Interface template, and datasource template,
is that once created - leave alone.... or start all over.

Thanks for the reply,

eholz1
