Visualising graph scale range

#1 Post by iainhallam » Fri Feb 22, 2013 5:37 am

At present, when I look at a switch in Cacti, I get a nice overview of all the port traffic, but it's difficult to see at a glance which spikes should worry me, because all the graphs have different scales. I'd like an option to either display all graphs at the same scale (the largest) or to colour-code the backgrounds of the graphs in a heatmap by the top value of their scale. Either of these methods would make it obvious which graphs are the largest flows.

Thanks.

At the moment, there are those approaches:
- You may want to deactivate autoscaling and define a fixed scale for all graphs.
- using a set of CDEFs, you are able to colorize the background. Some hints can be found at 1st link of my sig in the CDEF section.

It may be a better approach to use e.g. REPORTIT for such overviews and TOP 10 lists
