Had the same problem. Look in the sql folder - there are some tables you need to import before you can install.

Mine was a clean install, and I also had this issue. The reason for this is that database "syslog_ng" is not automatically created. If you create it, the installation works fine.

Failing that, when the install fails, click the back button, go to settings, CAMM, and then modify the syslog_ng database to one that you have.

Worked for me.

And your mysql user is root ? Or have access like root. I.e.

Code: Select all

GRANT ALL ON *.* TO [email protected] ....

Yes, but I resolved this quite a while back, so no need for me to run this command.

And this is a problem.
If mysql user is NOT root
mysql> show tables from `not_exist_db`;
ERROR 1044 (42000): Access denied for user 'cactiusern'@'localhost' to database 'not_exist_db'
error not fatal (1044) and install work ok.

If mysql user is root
mysql> show tables from `not_exist_db`;
ERROR 1049 (42000): Unknown database 'not_exist_db'
and that is fatal error (1049) and install stop.

Yes, I see this now. If Cacti doesn't run as root, then this woulf throw this error message, as "cactiuser" has no permissions into MySQL unless you explicity grant them.
