Separating mysql database to different location

#1 Post by izake » Fri Feb 01, 2019 10:26 am

I have a VM Linux server (CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core) running mysql (mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.6.29) and cacti Version 0.8.8h.
Recently i realized, mysql takes a chunk of memory resources and there are frequent breaks in cacti graphs. I am considering moving the mysql database to a different location to see if memory utilization goes down and graphs are restored

cacti has 620 devices & 28798 graphs

Anyone with this experience ...please advise

When you are starting to get to heavy database usage on ANY database product, you should always consider giving it it's own dedicated resource.
