WARNING: Result from CMD not valid. Partial Result: U

#1 Post by 4est » Mon Feb 04, 2019 3:15 pm

I tried everything, I must be missing something.

I have just a simple script "cat filename" named tempmon_Adi.sh
script contents: /bin/cat /home/dan/temperatura_Adi

Running from the shell:
/bin/bash tempmon_Adi.sh
20.23

But when pooled from cacti, I always get WARNING: Result from CMD not valid. Partial Result: U
I tried running the cat command directly instead of the script, it's the same
Capture.PNG
data input
Capture.PNG (17.21 KiB) Viewed 390 times
What's wrong with my setup?

Thanks

still no luck

I tested the command:
sudo -u www-data /bin/cat /home/dan/temperatura_Adi
20.22

so why won't it run under cacti?

Perhaps your error is on the /bin/cat portion of the command line. What are the perms on that file?

644, and it's readable, I tried sudo

But now it started to work. I think there was a problem caused by PHP 7.2
I applied a patch, and I see now it works. I can't put the finger on when I fixed it

05/02/2019 21:10:02 - POLLER: Poller[Main Poller] Device[4] Device[casa sanpetru] Graphs[Temperatura camere casa Sanpetru, Temperatura camere casa Sanpetru] DS[Temp.Adi] CMD: /bin/cat /home/dan/temperatura_Adi, output: 20.18

However I still have blank graphs, although the data is apparently being red

yeah, it started working

Somehow I think it's a timezone issue: rrd records seem to be +2h.
More exactly, lastupdate is +2h ahead
