Cacti VM Image based on 1.x

#1 Post by seanmancini » Sat Apr 27, 2019 8:55 pm

Hey Everyone

I am working on building a VM image for cacti for my own purposes I have seen it asked for multiple times here
I am checking on interest for the image if So I can host it for download

I am planning on building the based on the following

Ubuntu OS - with basic configs
cacti 1.2.3

I would provide a detailed document on things like usernames and packages and would be willing to maintain it as I would have to anyways for my purposes
This would be a great help if you are looking to deploy cacti as fast as possible

Let me know if you are interested if there is enough interest I may spin up a public ftp server or find a spot to host it on

Thanks !

If you weren't already, I'd definitely recommend something like Packer from Hashicorp for this kind of thing. That way you can rebuild for new releases or OS updates very easily.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
