95th Percentile Billing

#1 Post by coolcliff » Wed Sep 11, 2019 1:32 am

Hi

I have a customer asking for clarifications with regards to 95th percentile billing or calculating burstable BW, as of today we have followed the below methods for calculating it.

Exported the monthly CSV report

Considered the total No. of Samples = 367
5% Top samples count = 18.35
Highest Sample to be considered for billing = 19

Committed Bandwidth = 200
Usage As per 19th Sample = 680
Usage based billing = 680 - 200(Comitted BW) = 480

See the CSV file attached for more clarity,a have also attached the corresponding graph

My Customers query is what is the meaning of col10-cdefa and col12-cdeff, which is the basis of all our calculations,
I need to understand if we are supposed to use the inbound and outbound values for calculation purposes. however, we notice that the graph supports the col10-cdefa and col12-cdeff values.

can someone help me out here to understand col10-cdefa and col12-cdeff valuse stand for

Regards

Clifford

CDEF's are conversion functions to go from things like bits to bytes.

Hi

So which of the headings denote the actual bandwidth values as seen in the graph

Hi,

I got that the CDEF's are conversion functions to go from things like bits to bytes. however, I need to know which of the 4 values I should use for calculation purposes for charging bandwidth usage.
