Template import issue

#1 Post by CptnBlues63 » Wed Sep 19, 2018 11:26 am

So I just installed a new cacti server with the current version of cacti (1.1.38) on Redhat v7.5 on a VMware host
Upon attempting to import graph templates with the most recent 1.x templates from the official template page, it doesn't work. As in, no graph template appears in cacti. A quick check in /opt/cacti/cacti_log/cacti.log I see the following after each attempt:

09/19/2018 09:55:24 - IMPORT parse_xml_hash ERROR wrong hash format for hash: info

Yet when I download the older 0.8x versions of the graph templates, they install successfully.

Can anybody help me with this, I'm stumped.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it.

I saw that on info on one template page and tried to import that way but had an issue. When I looked for the folder and/or filename here's what I found:

[[email protected] ~]# locate import_package.php
/var/lib/docker/overlay2/3284b463eaae02075e25b3f0f69e0f4949f9c1f9cf629fef549cad32b36d2d55/diff/opt/cacti/cli/import_package.php
/var/lib/docker/overlay2/67d765c3a3581db8d374ede2066b18afa70a2340e069be475900c45d52e1f786/diff/opt/cacti/cli/import_package.php
[[email protected] ~]# find / -name import_package.php
/var/lib/docker/overlay2/3284b463eaae02075e25b3f0f69e0f4949f9c1f9cf629fef549cad32b36d2d55/diff/opt/cacti/cli/import_package.php
/var/lib/docker/overlay2/67d765c3a3581db8d374ede2066b18afa70a2340e069be475900c45d52e1f786/diff/opt/cacti/cli/import_package.php
/var/lib/docker/overlay2/8563c81e81eeeba8d9181684bdf8f05cb377f988554a79f298f2c0f770eca4a1/merged/opt/cacti/cli/import_package.php
[[email protected] ~]#

(I forgot to mention this is a "docker" image I'm using. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I was advised to use this by one of our linux administrators and he helped me get it up and running.)

So anyway, I now I have two more questions:

1) Which "cli" folder do I run the import_package.php in?
2) What's the exact command I need to use? (I checked and none of those php's are executable so I'm not sure how to invoke the command)

I just got on the phone with my admin and he told me he already tried this. So, what next?

What was the outcome of using the import_package with the packages in the install/templates folder?

Can you post the technical support info from your cacti too? Doubt there will be anything wrong with it, but it's always worth checking.

What "technical support info" are you looking for exactly? Also, just to be safe, where can I find it?
