Private Enterprise Number

#1 Post by raX » Tue Oct 11, 2005 7:52 pm

Cacti has been assigned the 23925 private enterprise number by IANA for Cacti-specific SNMP-based applications. Anyone that is developing something related to Cacti, feel free to request a sub-delegation of this OID from me.

Great, been writing my own SNMP Extentions Agent for Windows for some time now. Now I don't have to just make up my own ID anymore.

Before anyone uses the OID, you need to contact Ian ([email protected]) for an authorized sub tree assignment.

Oh I forgot about how this works... we were assigned a number a long time ago, but I don't even remember the name of the authority that does this. Who administers these numbers (the "root?" level numbers... not the Cacti-specific numbers).
